Sha'ban Hilal was seen in in VA and in southern USA from Miami to LA and San Francisco in the evening of Wed. June 20, 2012. The first day of Sha'ban is June 21.

(Shab-e Bara'at) will fall in the night between July 4 and 5, 2012

Ramadan Hilal

Insha-Allah, Ramadan 1433 Hilal will be easily easily in southern USA in the evening of July 20, 2012 making Saturday, July 21 the first day of the fasting month.

The Hilal will NOT be VISIBLE in the evening of July 19 (Thursday) anywhere in the world as the altitude above the horizon is very low (-2.3 degrees to 5.1 degrees in Los Angeles). To be visible the moon angle should be around 12 and[ts altitude 10+ degrees above the ground.

(Saudi/ISNAKhalid Shaukat, etc date of First Ramadan is July 20 as they don't go by a Hilal, but by the conjunction (Black New Moon).
